The Ultimate LEGO Vehicle Contest

Gonna Make You Sweat...
Held on the hottest day of the year, contestants braved 100+ degree temperatures to make their way to the 5th Annual Ultimate LEGO Vehicle Contest. The crowd at this year's competition represented the fiercest, most hardened competitors, all eager for a go at the legendary J-VEQ, winner of the first ever ULVC, who flew in from New York City just for this event.

The heat was on, but builders' spirits were kept high throughout the two-hour building period with a soundtrack comprised of nothing but inspirational 1980s movie "training montage" songs.

J-VEQ cups his balls while working on a concept car that would glide on completely spherical LEGO pieces. Though test runs showed its speed to be surprisingly promising, J-VEQ opted for a different design for his competition vehicle.

Competitors bring their completed vehicles over to the table to be judged in the Aesthetics Contest, as this year's double-length ramps stand ready for the upcoming Speed Race.
