BrikWars: Brikingham, March 2002

I don't know if the old adage is true that distance may make the heart grow fonder, but close proximity certainly made for quick enemies in this game. Kathy & Mark's The Chuxxx desperately scrambled to gain control of the sniper rifle (atop The Olde Weapons Shoppe) before it could fall into the hands of Jason & Matthew's Mutant Horde. Alas they failed, and their axe-weilding hero payed the ultimate price whilst the other Chuxxx ducked into nearby shops for cover.

Meanwhile at the opposite corner of the board, the race for control of the Prof. Clockworthy's trusty ol' bazooka is won by Satyam & Bryan's Robots of Vikon VII, who proceed to blast away at Lila & April's poorly armed Globbis troopers. The body parts go flying.

ABOVE: What good is a bicycle when you don't have legs to ride it? Or arms? Or a head?

After a promising start full of blood, gore, and destruction, the game took a turn for the wuss when two teams (who had previously inflicted significant damage on each other) formed an -- I shudder to even think about it -- alliance. With The Chuxxx and the Mutant Horde refusing to harm each other, each team began attacking less threatening targets.

ABOVE: Somehow this annoying folk singer managed to survive the game unscathed, at least physically.

After an unsuccessful attempt at felling the zoo's giraffe, The Chuxxx took their aggression out on the wall of a local McDonalds.

ABOVE: Would you like fires with that?

With the four other teams variously occupied, Rachel's Enemies of Fashion moved relatively unnoticed across the board (so unnoticed, in fact, that there's no photo to represent this).

Keep it coming...
