BrikWars: Brikingham, March 2002

Although their team was badly decimated by bazooka fire, Globbis did manage to secure 1/3 of their secret goal by zipping past Starbuks on a motorcycle and scooping up a coffee cup.

ABOVE: Kids, it is not recommended that you attempt to drink hot coffee while riding a motorcycle at home.

And the bazooka-weilding Robots of Vikon VII got their comeuppance when Globbis successfully set off two sticks of dynamite, causing a tremednously satisfying amount of explosive damage to all nearby persons and objects.

ABOVE: Mmmm... debris...

The Globbis team had to deal with another incovenience, however, when, while making its usual rounds, the monorail came across a damaged stretch of track and came crashing down right in front of their base.

ABOVE: Lots of innocent bystanders had piled into the monorail in an attempt to avoid the destruction out on the streets.

There were more great moments in the game, but unfortunately they were not captured by camera. By game's end, after seven straight hours of playing (interrupted only briefly for pizza and watching the Attack of the Clones trailer on FOX tv), no team had scored any points. Closest to scoring was Rachel's Enemies of Fashion whose ninja was dangerously close to obtaining the banana from the monkey in the zoo, and who also had a trooper about to steal the flag of the Mutant Horde.

As expected, nobody came close to completing the hidden treasure goal. In fact, no one even found the hidden treasure map. After the game, players wanted to know where I had hidden it. I had them guess for several minutes, but no one was able to get either the map or the treasure's location correct. My favorite guess for the hidden map was "in the belly of the elephant". The map was actually behind the fat lady painting in the jewelry shop, and the treasure itself was underneath the floorboards of the first floor of Prof. Clockworthy's house.

As the following post-game group shot (borrowed from Rachel's website) shows, a good time was had by all...

ABOVE: Hooray for BrikWars!

Especially Satyam:

ABOVE: Satyam challenges all comers in a rematch. Any game will do.

The End. ...or is it?
