The
Ultimate LEGO Vehicle Contest
ULV 4: 8 May 2004
The
Structural Integrity Contest
This year's Structural Integrity contest did away with the loss-of-all-wheels=elimination
rule. Instead, at the start of the building period, each contestant was
given an engine
piece that was required to be incorporated into their vehicle (a safe
distance away from their driver). Loss of a vehicle's driver or its engine
results in elimination.
This two-part photo demonstrates the perfect effectiveness of Jonathan's
ramp-unto-itself vehicle, as it throws Lucia's LaMoille Innocent high
into the air, and then down to its utter defeat. JJ's Slide moves
on to the second round having sustained no damage.
Brendan prepares Zardoz
to face what might be its toughest competitor to date...
...Gambles With Wolves.
What at first seems like an easy victory for Brendan turns out to be
quite costly.
Zardoz is severed clean in half.
Though eliminated, Gambles cannot help but do a victory dance
over the lower jaw of the once mighty Zardoz.
More
destruction ahead...
