So
it begins...
The first Ultimate LEGO Vehicle Contest gathered 14
fierce competitors with varying degrees of knowledge of quantum physics,
experience with building with LEGO, and pure ruthlessness. Though representing
a broad swath of communities througout the SF Bay Area, all participants
were bonded by a common goal: the utter destruction and humiliation of
their sworn enemies.
After acquainting the contestants
with the rules, and a quick food run
to Arby's, the two-hour building period commences with competitors showing
little mercy in their frenzied grabbing for choice parts.
Intimidation rears its ugly head early: showing off her power to defy known physics, Lauren stupifies the other contestants by somehow getting her arm elbow-deep in a small box of Arby's fries.
After much debate, it is conceded that Thomas may use a monkey as his vehicle's driver.
A portentous sign of things to come: J-VEQ becomes intrigued with the idea of a single-piece body design for his vehicle.
